A real treat!

“I was lucky enough to be invited on a 2-night cruise for agents to experience the unique & luxurious life on board the Hebridean Princess.

The luxury of not having to fly was great and if you are at all nervous about travelling this holiday could not be easier. You can get a train to Glasgow (direct from York or Leeds) where you are met and transferred to the ship. Alternatively, car parking can be offered near to the cruise dock as well.

As soon as I boarded the Hebridean Princess I felt it was like a home away from home, but the best way to describe it would be a floating country manor hotel and the décor throughout followed this theme. The staff couldn’t be more welcoming from start to finish and the service is second to none. They remember your name, your favourite drinks order and in my case a dietary requirement although it was never spoken of but always taken care of & catered for with no extra fuss or hassle.

My cabin was very spacious with all amenities & added luxuries anyone could want, including a complimentary decanter of whisky & Molton Brown toiletries. Single travelers are well catered for as they have plenty of single cabins available and they don’t charge a huge surcharge for these which can be the case with other companies.

Food and wine are definitely a highlight on board the Princess as well. The restaurant mainly has tables for 2 however there are larger tables too so that single passengers are sat together and may be joined by staff – even the captain! The food on board really is fabulous with great choice and quality products to choose from. The wine was also top quality. Sailings are fully inclusive which means there’s no setting up on board accounts, the only purchases needed are gifts or souvenirs from the shop on board or shops on shore. Literally everything else is included so you could travel with no money at all if you so wished!

Excursions are tailormade for each sailing itinerary and will offer a good mix of gentle paced sightseeing, walking, and visiting places of historic importance. Bikes are also available for the more active guests to use on their time ashore. The excursion on our short trip was a day on the Isle of Aaron with a trip to the famous Whiskey Distillery where we were treated to a private guide and explanation of the process as well as learning about the history and not to mention the tasting of the products in question as well (lucky us!). This is a perfect example of the kind of excursion you can expect.

With stunning scenery, wonderful food, amazing service and such beautiful destinations I really did enjoy my 2-night trip on board and can honestly say it was an experience I will never forget and one I think anybody would enjoy. I can definitely see why The Queen herself and the royal family have taken a private charter of the ship for their own personal use. I say if it is good enough for her majesty it will do for me!
