Helen’s trip to Paradise!
“I have just had the best holiday EVER ……ten nights in the Indian Ocean on the island of Kuramathi in the Maldives.
With my husband and my 11 yr old son we left Manchester on Boxing Day where it was cold & snowy and arrived into Male where it was 28 degrees and sunshine – heaven! It was then an hour and half speed boat journey to our Island. The staff gave us a very warm welcome and we were taken to our room for the next ten nights.
Our room was a beautiful deluxe water villa which was modern and spacious with bi-folding doors to our outside area which had steps into the warm waters below.
A slow walk around the island on the white sands takes around 30 minutes. The bars and restaurants are dotted among the trees and on the beach. It was hard to believe that there were 9 A la carte restaurants and 3 buffet restaurants spread over the island.
The blue skies made the snorkeling magical. The sea life was in abundance and it felt like the Disney film Nemo with all coloured fish, rays and sharks!
There are several meal options but we took the ‘Select all inclusive’ which allowed us to dine wherever we wanted to and have as many cocktails as we could drink!
After a busy run up to Christmas, this holiday was perfect to completely relax and unwind and completely switch off from the world.
If a holiday where you don’t wear shoes or watch TV appeals to you and you want quality family time then this island is the place for you!
