Jackie has recently returned from an AMA Waterways trip on the Rhine River on board the newly built AMA Kristina. They flew to Amsterdam early in the morning and took the train from the airport to Amsterdam Central which was approx. £5 pp and very simple. On arrival they walked the very short distance from the station to the dock (they chose not to have the transfers and to do it themselves but transfers from the airport are usually arranged for you). It was only 9.45am when they…

Jackie went on a Northern Lights flight from Leeds Bradford last night. Approx 3.5hrs flight, departed at 8.40pm and it flew up and out over the Shetland Isles. This was the last one of the season so you’ll have to wait until next winter before they start again but it is a perfect present for someone, and priced at around £220 it’s very reasonable so worth considering for next year! She saw the lights but they weren’t dancing sadly, however she was hugely impressed with the millions of…

Jackie has recently returned from an amazing trip to Cambodia & Vietnam. She’s wanted to visit this area for a long time now so was thrilled to get the opportunity to visit both countries whilst on a Mekong River Cruise with APT. Firstly they flew to Siem Reap with British Airways via Bangkok and found the arrival visa procedures swift & efficient and before long they were in a taxi on the way to the hotel. The system of getting a taxi at the airport was very easy…

Jackie was invited to Guernsey this week by Leeds Bradford Airport and Aurigny airlines for a 2 night flying visit. In all her years in travel, she’d never been to the Channel Islands so was keen to see what it is like and wasn’t disappointed. Aurigny fly to Guernsey 4 times per week from Leeds Bradford so it is a great choice for a short break as well as a longer holiday. The flight was very fast and comfortable, with 20kgs of luggage allowance included! Guernsey airport is…

Jackie spent a week in Greece last week in an attempt to get some last minute sunshine, although they only had 4 nice days as it rained for 3 days! The weather in that area was very unsettled for a couple of weeks but that seems to have passed and the sunshine is back so you could still grab some warmth if you have any holiday time left…. She went to Halkidiki on the mainland and although she hasn’t been there for over 20 years, she found it…

“ I have just returned from a very relaxing 2 weeks cruise with Fred Olsen. We sailed from Southampton which was a 5 ½ hour drive and stayed overnight at the Hilton the night before. We can get some very good deals for pre-cruise stays which include the car parking for the duration and a taxi to/from the port. It was such a relaxing start to the holiday with no airport stress! The embarkation process at Southampton was swift and easy and in no time at all…

Paul & Jackie spent yesterday morning in a very cold & wet Newcastle. They were there for a tour of Fred Olsen’s ship Balmoral. If you are interested in a Fred Olsen cruise, please call in to see them.

Jackie recently went to the Advantage Travel conference again which this year was on board the MSC Cruise ship Fantasia. It sailed from Genoa in Italy for 4 nights, visiting Barcelona, Palma & Corsica before returning back to Genoa. She began her trip at Leeds Bradford and flew down to Heathrow on the evening flight which at £54.00 was cheaper than the train! This BA service really is great for our region and makes flying onwards from Heathrow very convenient and cheap. She stayed overnight at one of…
