Feedback from South Africa

We love hearing from our clients on their return!

Hi Paul and Karen

Just a quick email re our South African holiday in March.  Had a brilliant time, loved the Safari and Pumba Lodge was amazing (despite the intermittent rain!).  3 nights just right.  Saw loads of animals.

It was great going back to Knysna and 4 nights flew by.  Brilliant weather.  Loved the Lofts Boutique Hotel.  The room we had was right on the waterside and in the early evening we would sit and watch the sun set and the tide come in.  Loads to do in this area.  Even investigated apartments for next year!

The drive across the Karoo to Cape Town was interesting and we even visited the Ostrich Farm.  La Plume Guest House was amazing, lovely people, great food and amazing accommodation.

Not impressed though with Mimosa Lodge.  Rooms dark and dismal and definitely in need of an upgrade.  However, the food was to die for.  Suggestion for others, stay elsewhere and dine at Mimosa.

We only stayed 1 night instead of 2 and added an extra night to Cape Town.

We loved the Waterfront apartments in Cape town.  Lovely apartment, could easily walk all around the V&A area or get the open topped bus around Cape Town.  Went out to Robben Island (very interesting) and up Table Mountain on a really clear day – amazing.

All flights worked well though going out is a long journey.  Left here about 0930 Saturday and arrived Pumba 4pm Sunday!

Eating out was really cheap (17Rand to £) and the majority of the food excellent.  We also felt South Africa had moved forward in the 13 years since we last visited.  Lots more confidence especially amongst the young people.  Would definitely recommend the area, though maybe a bit earlier next time.

hope this is useful

kind regards

Katy and Geoff
