Karen visited Club Med in Turkey
Karen’s report – A Holiday with a Difference
In May 2014 I had the fortune of visiting the 4 trident Club Med resort of Palmiye on the south cost of Turkey.
After a 4 and half hour flight from Manchester we landed in to Antalya Airport.
The Club Med Representatives were waiting to greet us and Tag our bags that were later delivered to our rooms which made check in so much easier and faster.
After an approximate one hour transfer we arrived at the stunning Club Med Palmiye.
The resort is on the seafront with beautiful view of the Taurus Mountains and the crystal clear Mediterranean Sea.
Palmiye is set over 40 Hectares of lush green grounds and is an ideal destination for families with children of all ages, couple and sports enthusiasts.
The resort has 2 distinct parts, the hotel with 250 rooms and the village with 600 bungalows, guest have free access to use all of the resort
I stayed in a bungalow room in the village area the setting of these rooms were stunning – set amongst orange and lemon trees. The bungalows were on three levels with access by steps to the second and third level. Some of the rooms have already been refurbished to a high standard but not all of them have been completed. The refurbished bungalows have modern bathrooms, with large window. None of the Bungalows have balconies
There are 5 pools including one indoor, one for the mini club and an amazing Zen- Adult only pool in a separate adult only area which makes a great setting and 2 other large livelier pool.
There are so many sports on offer including waterskiing, windsurfing, sailing, archery and many more. There is also a circus academy including the flying trapeze which is an amazing experience if you have the nerve.
There are also 12 tennis courts and a fitness academy.
Palmiye is a premium All Inclusive resort with 3 restaurants, 2 buffet style (one in the hotel section and one in the village area) the food was excellent with a huge selection every day for breakfast, lunch and evening meal catering for every taste.
There is also a Turkish speciality restaurant where you can dine with friends or family in an intimate environment facing the sea. This can pre book the day before you choose to dine.
The staff throughout the resort are amazing and I have to say they are the most energetic GOs (Club Med entertainment staff), friendliest, hardworking staff I have ever met.
The children are well catered for with some amazing entertainment during the day and the kids clubs offer some great facilities for children of all ages.
Overall I would recommend the Club Med Palmiye resort to couples and families who like to try new experience, giving you the best of both worlds with exciting lively nights or chilled evening, the choice is yours.
